ASR backup without a floppy drive

by corblimey » Thu Apr 07, 2011 7:25 pm

If you run an ASR backup on SBS2003 using BA on a box without a floppy drive it reports the job has failed due the floppy drive not being found.

The backup doesn't actually fail but obviously the floppy disk has not been created.

The ASR files are still available by extracting them from the bkf file and they can be used to manually create an ASR floppy disk.

It's extremely common to find servers without floppy drives so it would be great if there were an option to prevent the job being reported as failed.

Is this possible?
