RSYNC, SIS and backup times, questions and problems.

We are currently evaluating BackupAssist (version 5.4.0 (5.4.0078)) and using RSYNC and single instance store. Our job is setup for a "Professional" rotation scheme. I installed the rsync server on the BA computer so I would be backing up the data to itself instead of a third computer. This is running on a physical computer running Windows XP Professional. I have 4 days of a backup job and it is working but I have a couple of questions.

1: Our job is setup to use single instance store, on night 1 the backup ran and backed up all the data on the remote server totaling 4.2 GB. Night 2, 3 and 4 backed up the changes, each night approximately 5-10MB. According to the reports:
total amount of data backed up is 16.12 GB
total size in single instance store is 4.20 GB
space saved by sis is 11.92 GB

That's great and exactly what we want but when I look at the folder I am backing up to the total size is 16 GB, not 4.2 GB. Why does BA see it as one size but Windows sees it as something quite different?

2: The backup times seem to be much longer than I would expect. If we are backing up 5 MB of data why does the job take over an hour? The information below is from the report, the file list took under 2 seconds but again, the entire job took over an hour. Is this normal or is there a way to speed this up?

sending incremental file list
created directory /home/SvcCWRSYNC/backup/Friday/srvr17_users
Number of files: 1502
Number of files transferred: 1
Total file size: 261732617 bytes
Total transferred file size: 141824 bytes
Literal data: 19684 bytes
Matched data: 122140 bytes
File list size: 44581
File list generation time: 1.375 seconds
File list transfer time: 0.000 seconds
Total bytes sent: 56618
Total bytes received: 7223
sent 56618 bytes received 7223 bytes 267.68 bytes/sec
total size is 261732617 speedup is 4099.76

Any help is appreciated, thank you.
