Installation and tape drive

Postby jennifer » Tue Mar 27, 2007 1:56 am

I am running Windows Server 2000. I am newbie at using a tape drive, but the boss insists. The previous IT person never installed the tape drive. It was disabled and no driver was found. I installed the driver for it, and it appears to be enabled. I am looking for software to run a backup to the tapedrive. My question is twofold: first, does the installation of BackupAssit require a restart? Second, does BackUpAssist have to be installed on the server that contains the tape drive or can it be accessed remotely over the LAN using BackupAssist?

Thank You,
Jennifer
