Copying backups to USB

by SHGinUK » Thu Jun 01, 2017 6:48 pm

Hi.

I have three different backups running to a 3TB share on a networked Windows7 PC, and this works well. I'd like to make a copy of one of the backup sets to a pair of external USB hard-drives, which are rotated daily. If I use, say, Robocopy to do this, would the USB drives be recoverable if connected to a different BA host? Or, does BA include a facility for this?

Hello,

I cannot say what would or would not happen with the introduction of a 3rd party utility into the middle of the storage chain.

The only method BackupAssist has to accomplish the copying of data from one backup destination to another would be to run an ancillary backup, or use the script options available when editing the backup job.
Should you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me - I'd be glad to assist you.

Thank You,
