Running BA version 8.2.0010 on Windows Server 2012 R2.
Backing up individual Exchange mailboxes to an iSCSI drive of 5TB (1.4TB free). No 2GB limit is set and grouping is set as a Single PST for all messages.
Most backups are successful however I'm seeing more and more frequent failures with this error:
- Code: Select all
--- Conditions ---
[Critical error EXBACKUP_KILLED_DUE_TO_INACTIVITY] Exbackup process is killed due to inactivity. Backup may not be complete.
- Additional information: INACTIVITY_HANG_TIMEOUT : Exbackup-2a-Exchange-Server-0.ini

[Ultra critical error EXBACKUP_EXITCODE_INSTANCE] Exbackup failed due to an installation problem or because another instance was already running. Re-installation of BackupAssist may be required.
- Additional information: * Exit code: -1

The first KB article http://kb.backupassist.com/errormap.php?BA1898 mentions issue with version 6.2.0 and resolution is to upgrade to 6.2.1 - we're already on 8.2.0.
The 2nd KB article http://kb.backupassist.com/errormap.php?BA4401 mentions looking for exbackup.exe in the taskmgr and terminate or let it finish - this process is not showing.
Has anyone else seen this issue and can offer me pointers on where to start troubleshooting? We have Backup Exec 2014 running on same server but the exchange server is not being backed up by Backup Exec. Rerunning the job manually usually works ok though it sometimes takes 2 attempts as first manual run also fails with the same error as scheduled job.
thanks, Kiweegie
