VM planning

Hi,

I am configuring a new server to take over primary production and will start using VMs. Of our apps, 3 of the 4 databases are SQL Server Express and the other is a Sybase Advantage.

I've been using BackupAssist and will add the sql server and hyper-v add ons.

My question is whether it makes a difference if the sql server databases are in a separate VM from the Advantage database in regard to backup with Backup Assist?

It's Michael Jones form support.

The answer is no, it should not make a difference from a backup standpoint. I am unfamiliar with the Advantage product, but unless it is a huge resource hog it should not have an effect.
