Have just setup mirroring on 2 servers, when server A (Principal) fails and it fails over to Server B (Mirror) are there any settings to ignore those databases that are in the recovery state?
or
Can we run a script before starting the backup, if the server is available run the job, if it’s not stop the job.
Do that on both backups jobs.
Then it should only do the backup on the server that is available.

But, yes, I believe running a proper script before the backup would be the way I would deal with it.
