SQL server backup

Will the SQL server add-on be able to backup databases on other systems, or, does the BackupAssist with the SQL server add-on have to be on the same machine as the database?

It's Stuart here from the BackupAssist team, thanks for posting on our forum.

SQL databases can be backed up from other machines using the SQL add-on. It's recommended that the databases reside on the same domain which BackupAssist is installed on for best results however.
