Stuck on splash-screen

My SBS2011 backups have been failing. Rebooting the server causes the backups to succeed again for a few days, then jobs start to fail intermittently, and finally the backup jobs fail completely. The problems seem to get progressively worse as time goes on after a reboot... to the point that even trying to open BA gets stuck on the splash-screed "Launching Administration Console".

I have removed and reinstalled BA 8.4.1. No joy.
I have manually stopped all BA services, then started them again when BA starts. No joy.
I have sent you folks logs asking for help. No joy.

What else can I try?
