Backup Exchange 2013

We are implementing a new Exchange 2013 VM server. Can we install Backup Assist on a standalone server to backup the Exchange VM? We are looking to have full image backups along with granular restores. Can log files be truncated?

My name is Casey, and I'm with the BackupAssist team. Thanks for posting on our forum.

If you wish to have a full image backup of your virtual machine with Exchange you'll need to either install BackupAssist on the Hyper-V host or the actual Exchange server itself.

Currently it is not possible to remotely backup Exchange servers in full. Installing BackupAssist as instructed above will truncate the logs as needed. For more information on our Exchange server backups, check out the link below:
