BackupAssist Support Forum

I've heard good things about BackupAssist and I'm looking at purchasing and installing v8 at one of my sites. I know I have problems with long filenames at this location as I can't copy some project folders due to this problem. I know a number of backup products deal with long filenames in different ways.

My question is does BackupAssist deal with long filenames and presuming so, how does it deal with them? For instance, does it truncate the filename.

Hello,

It's Michael Jones from support. We use the same restrictions that are native to Microsoft Windows Server environments. Any issue you have with long file names in a standard OS environment would not be handled differently by BackupAssist.
