Eject USB drive automatically after backup?

Hi All,

I am using BackupAssist (8.4.2008) to backup data to an external hard drive. Users are then physically removing the drive, and taking it offsite.

Unfortunately users do not have access to the computer on which the backup is performed, and are therefore not in a position to eject the USB drive. This fact is leading to data corruption issues on the drives.

Is there any way to trigger a USB drive ejection after a backup completes in BackupAssist? For example can BA be configured to run a batch file at the end of a backup.

Any suggestions here will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Davo,

Thanks for posting.

As long as your destination is set to External hard drive, you should find a tick box option under the destination tab within your job that allows you to specify if the hard drive is ejected once the backup has been completed.

You shouldn't need any additional scripting, etc. to achieve this.
