Hello guys,

I recently migrate from a 2012R2 server to 2016 and i tried to install my backupassist V8.4.5r1 and it stucks on starting services.
Error1920. Service BackupAssist Service (zBackupAssistService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
Any advice?

It's Michael from US Support.

Unfortunately, my advice would be to update to BackupAssist v9.5, because as you can see below, it is the first release to support MS Server 2016:

9.5.0 27 October 2016
•NEW : Windows Server 2016 support
◦This feature release adds support for Microsoft Windows Server 2016. This applies to all previously supported BackupAssist, MultiSite Manager and Windows Server features, with the exception of Cluster Shared Volume (CSV), which is not yet supported.

Hopefully this is helpful.
Should you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me - I'd be glad to assist you.

Thank You,
Michael R. Jones
