Exclude recycle bin from bare metal backup

by cnss » Thu Nov 24, 2016 1:03 am

Greetings all,

This might sound contradictory, but is there a way to exclude the Win 7 OS drive's recycle bin from
a bare metal backup? The post backup test restore randomly chooses files to compare for validity,
and occasionally selects a file from the recycle bin sub-directory, which is apparently unavailable
for read operations to do the file compare.

Since the compare fails, the restore test fails, and the backup fails.

The only solution that immediately comes to mind is to write a disk cleanup routine that empties
the recycle bin, immediately prior to backup.

Can anyone imagine a more elegant solution?

TIA,

Hello,

I believe that this issue is something the developers are currently looking at.

While there is no current work around, the only solution we have in the short term is to turn off the backup verification.
Should you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me - I'd be glad to assist you.

Thank You,
