Hi Stuart,

We're making progress but the restore still isn't working. Recover Assist can now see the backup - great, but when it comes to restore I get The Windows Complete PC Restore operation failed. Error details: Element not found. (0x80070490).

After doing a bit of research I found this article http://blog.mpecsinc.ca/2009/03/sbs-2008-restore-failed-element-not.html which indicates that you need to uplug the restore media on boot and then plug it in and scan upon restore, which I did but it still errors with this.

Im not sure if the fact Im booting from USB makes a difference?

Just to update all is working thanks, I opted to use the windows disk to do a recovery and the server has recovered fine - and boots!!
