I removed those temp log files and sent the rest of the folder via email just now.

If you need those log files, we'll have to find another way.

Hello,

I wanted to follow up on this with you. I think this is related to an issue that we have found and resolved in the new release of BackupAssist version 7.4.5.

Please update and try this out and then let me know if you are still having a problem.

To upgrade to 7.4.5, visit http://downloads.backupassist.com/7.4.5 ... _7.4.5.exe
Should you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me - I'd be glad to assist you.

Thank You,
Michael R. Jones

Just installed 7.4.5. Let's monitor for a while (though, the last time it was over a month in between failures.)

Hello,

Can you go ahead and send us the newest diagnostics?

I wonder if there is something happening on the server that is causing this to happen only occasionally.

Have you tried changing the time of the backup to an hour later/earlier to see if that makes a difference?
Should you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact me - I'd be glad to assist you.

Diagnostics upload via the submit page.

No, I have not. I know it's not another backup job, because we built a monitoring tool that shows us all jobs and even notifies us if there is any overlap, which there is not here. Could be some other process, but we are very limited in the time frame for moving these jobs. Still, I suppose I can try.

So about a week ago, I got this email:

From: Michael Jones [mailto:support@backupassist.com]
Sent: Tuesday, May 13, 2014 12:48 PM
To: keithdavis@
Subject: re: BA Manual diagnostic submission: BA705 One or more files were skipped

Hello Keith,

Thanks for getting these in to me. Since this has only happened the one time, I'm going to call it an anomaly, and say let's keep an eye on it.
Just be sure to let me know if it occurs again.
There is nothing to indicate that it will be a recurring issue at this point.

And I replied:

From: Keith Davis
Sent: Tuesday, May 13, 2014 12:56 PM
To: 'Michael Jones'
Subject: RE: BA Manual diagnostic submission: BA705 One or more files were skipped

What? It has not only happened one time. It happens once or twice a month.

But I have not received a response. We just got another failure, on a different file this time:

File Replication BA705 One or more files were skipped
Additional Information: Reading: (2) The system cannot find the file specified (C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\Mailbox\Public Folder Database 0985759632\E0100001169.log)

That reply from Mr. Jones is very frustrating - it appears he did not even read (or maybe not his fault, did not have access to), all of the dialog that has gone up to this point and I feel like this issue is being disregarded.

For us, the error just stopped about 4 months ago. No idea what solved it. Are you on the current BA version (8.2.0)?

Yes i'm on the 8.2 Version.

I finished to upgrade my VSS max size with the command "vssadmin resize /for=C: /on=C: 60GB" in the command prompt. I'll see what happen. But it's like you, sometimes the backup succès, and sometimes not ...
